Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualifications: M.E / M. Tech in Embedded systems and VLSI Design/Control Systems/ Instrumentation/Power Systems Engineering/Power Electronics and Drives/ Control and Instrumentation /Instrumentation Engineering/Applied Electronics Engineering/ Mechatronics (Senior Project Associate); Ph.D. in Physical / Chemical Sciences (Senior Project Associate alternate); M.Sc. in Chemistry (Senior Research Fellow/Project Associate-I); B.E / B. Tech in Industrial / Production/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Engineering Design/ Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Embedded systems/ Mechatronics (Project Associate-I); 3 Years Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical /R&AC Engineering (Project Assistant-II); B.Sc. in Chemistry (Project Assistant-II)
• Essential Experience: 2 years (Senior Project Associate/Senior Research Fellow); Skill of data compilation and report writing (Not applicable to all); Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in natural product extraction, isolation of bioactive compounds, characterization techniques, biochemical assays, and formulation techniques (Not in this PDF, but general 2 years research for some)
• Desirable: Experience in Electrocatalysis (Senior Research Fellow); Experience in Electrochemical or chemical processes (Project Assistant-II); Experience in Machining, CNC Operations and Electrolyser activities (Project Assistant-II); Candidates who completed ITI prior to Diploma may be preferred (Project Assistant-II)

Salary/Stipend

• Senior Project Associate/Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 42,000/-pm + HRA
• Project Associate - I (qualified NET/GATE etc.): Rs. 31,000/-pm + HRA
• Project Associate - I (others): Rs. 25,000/-pm + HRA
• Project Assistant - II: Rs. 20,000/-pm + HRA

Age Limit (as on 24-12-2025)

• Senior Project Associate: Maximum 40 Years
• Senior Research Fellow: Maximum 32 Years
• Project Associate - I/Project Assistant - II: Maximum 35 Years

General Information/Instructions

• Eligible Candidates may appear for Walk-in-interview with all original and one set of Photocopies of certificates of educational qualification, age, caste (in case of SC/ST/OBC/EWS Candidates), experience (if any), one recent passport size photo and duly filled-in application
• The relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ Women and category if OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively or as per Govt. of India instructions issued in this regard from time to time
• If all things are equal, SC/ST/OBC/EWS Candidates may be given preference over General Candidates to ensure due representation
• Final Semester/Year students who are awaiting results are not eligible to be considered
• The date of determining the qualification and age limit shall be on the date of interview
• In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute (copy of documented proof of the conversion factor may be attached)
• Number of Positions required is indicative in nature; there may be an increase/decrease in the number based on requirement (s)
• Candidates selected will be provided either accommodation in the Institute Campus (if available) or shall be paid HRA (as applicable)
• Tenure mentioned above in any case will be co-terminus with the project or till such time this requirement exists whichever is earlier
• The engagement of Project Personnel is purely on temporary basis, initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the tenure of the Project/satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee as the case may be and does not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit on any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CECRI
• If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever
• Filling up of the positions is solely at the discretion of the Director, CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi based on suitability of candidates and no claim will arise for engagement, if some of these positions are not filled due to unsuitability / insufficient number of candidates
