Introduced by the Department of Fisheries, Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is a scheme to bring about ecologically healthy, economically viable, and socially inclusive development of the fisheries sector of India.
The scheme aims to provide short term catalytic support to the District Administration in backward districts to improve programme delivery and simultaneously develop a cadre of Development Facilitators. Fellows receive professional experience, structured learning, and a monthly stipend.
